"Reader's Choice Best Restaurant"
For a 12th consecutive year, readers of the New Courier have given the nod to their favourite restaurants. This year, the list of winners is longer than ever, proof that gastronomy is alive and well in our city. With a list of nominees of over 200 restaurants, competition was fierce, but a few managed to pull away from the pack.
In first place, a fixture in the local restaurant scene, as authentically Canadian as it is unique, with its mix of traditional and fusion cuisine. That's right, Gourmets House walks away with the trophy for the second year in a row. Lucy Parker and JC Montigny, owners of the establishment, can take pride in knowing that their recent decision to give a modern twist to their traditional cuisine has paid dividends, with readers of the New Courier taking note.

"An Unforgettable Experience"
Mornings that start late, and that we would quite honestly rather spend in bed. It was on one of these mornings, that I coaxed myself out of bed, in order to grudgingly attend to my duties as your faithful restaurant critic. Bleary eyed, I stumbled into Gourmets House for a late brunch. I can honestly say that I was able to enjoy one of the finest mornings of my year.
When I first heard of Gourmets House, I was promised a culinary treat. Everything, and I do mean everything, was pure perfection. From the appetizer to dessert, I was enchanted. Even my conversation with Lucy Parker, the lovely owner of the establishment, was a delight. A hidden paradise right in my own backyard, Gourmets House was touted as a culinary treat; I say nay, rather a transcendent experience.
